About the Divas

Posted in: by Swei on February 7, 2009

We’ve been playing every Wednesday (with occasional time off) for two and a half years!  A few people have come and gone, but it’s still the same core six playing every week. We like hanging out with each other so much that we went camping together (no LARPing).

Our first campling trip

Our first camping trip

We first played The Shackled City — 3.5 Dungeons and Dragons adventure. It took us almost two and a half years to finish it!  We’re a motley bunch, in game, I mean, humans, dwarfs, elves and half dragons. But we got the job done.

Here’s our last holiday photo. Tad (at far left) is our token guy — our Divo. And we love him. Any guy willing to hang out and play with girls week after week is OK in my book.

Now we are playing the Serenity RPG, with the Core gaming system and we are having a blast! Space western + Legos = fun.

If you find yourself in Portland, OR on a Wednesday night, stop by Guardian Games. We’d love to see you. Feel free to contact us with questions or comments.

About Beth:

I am a life-long gamer; coming back to Dungeons and Dragons after a 20 year break. I play with the same group of women (and Tad) every Wednesday. This blog captures the game from my character’s point of view. We have so much fun in the periphery of the game that I often do “meta” posts, too.

I love to read, play video games, cook and surf the web. Sometimes I get inspired to design a t-shirt or two. Currently I’m using my Wii to get fit with EA Active. It’s great.  Playing “Dragon Age” on the Xbox 360 and back to “Brain Age” (for the Sudoku) on the DS.

  1. I too have returned to D&D after a long hiatus and wonder why I ever left.

  2. Isn’t it just a blast? I so look forward to our Wednesday night game. And for me anyway, the group and particularly the DM make such a difference!

  3. A friend of mine sent me a link to this site and an article about the Dungeon Divas. I felt that I should say hello. I am slowly making strides for us here in Indianapolis, Indiana. My gaming group started 6 years ago with just the “guys” and me. However we had our first night of women outnumbering the men just last week!

  4. It feels like there’s some growing gamer girl momentum. Maybe the internet is helping connect us.
