The DM for their game had a lot of puzzles the players needed to solve to get through various encounters. At some point, they decided that they could use a spell they called "Ask a Friend". The DM made them roll 1d4 to decide how many friends they could ask. I got asked to help solve a lot of puzzles. Remember, this is circa 1985. Every time someone quotes "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and their "Call a Friend" option, I have a little geeky internal giggle.
