The wedding

Posted in: Weekly Update by Ariel on February 16, 2008

I always cry at weddings. It”s silly, especially considering how little we know Haley & Gryffon. But they are a handsome couple, obviously in love and if not for us, they wouldn”t be here today. Good reasons to cry, I guess.
It was a lovely affair. Good cake.
Big crowd! I don”t know when I last saw this many people. We figured that we might be able to spread out and mingle. Maybe get some information from the locals. Myntilly saw the mayor. She obviously made an impression on him — he grabbed her elbow and started introducing her around.

Haley”s family is kind high class (reminds me of my father!) and seems really concerned with appearances. I felt a bit under-dressed in my best robes. Most of the “friends of the groom” looked a bit more lively than the bride”s friends.

Elvis Krylscar is something else. He was Gryffon”s best man and his toast was, well, he said “May your shorts always be hot!” It was met with mostly confused smiles. Elvis and Gryffon laughed and I guess that”s what matters. They both seem to have recovered from their separate imprisonments. Elvis is a good one to have on your side in a fight.

We met someone like ourselves — a stranger to Cauldron — at the wedding. A young Paladin named Acgar. We got to talking religion — she did not tell me what god she follows (so really I guess it was me doing the talking!) I know that some paladins do not embrace a particular faith….. still, she may join us so I am sure there will be time for theological discourse!

Acgar talked at length with Quinlan and got some good leads on where we should go next. Outside of town there is a large pyramidal rock structure. Quinlan swears he saw Tirel (the red-haired woman) there.
I had a chance to chat with Jenya and she has graciously offered to either cast “divination” about the future or “locate object” on the missing wands. We haven”t had a chance to discuss which spell we should take. I should check my spellbook — I might be able to locate objects now.
For now, to bed.

  1. To bed, no! On to tea and cakes at the Coy Nixie of course…

Funny how you “forgot” to mention the mingling Sadi did at the wedding. Only one person that Sadi talks to, and she ends up dueling with him. Go figure…

  2. Ah, she who writes the history MAKES the history!
