The Flood Festival. I fear it. Sarashem was bringing back eight wands of control water to help keep the lake waters from flooding the town. That has to be why he was ambushed at the Lucky Monkey.

It must all fit together somehow! The kidnappings (that beholder!), the gangs, the wands and the return of Tearelle. We’ve heard rumors that someone is trying to make a portal to Carceri…..

I wish I knew what it takes to create a portal and why someone would want to. I worry that they are planning a human sacrifice — if a bunch of people die in a flood, would that help them open their portal? I don’t want to think that, much less voice that fear.

What can we hope to do? What can we do that hasn’t been tried by all those petrified heroes in the mayor’s garden?
